mar! that's what my paper was written on for my class. i still need to send that over to you for the farming blog. but my research last semester was on the benefits of rooftop gardening. not for growing or farming, more aesthetically, etc. hopefully i can take my knowledge after grad school and design rooftop gardens for rich people that live in cool modern lofts in austin or seattle. we are half way done and excited to see you guys again.
This is really cool and interesting. Its just like a greenhouse concept on a huge scale - doable! however, I think he's being a bit optimistic by saying that being indoors eliminates pests and disease...maybe if the employees all wore sterile suits!
What about the energy to run something like that? Is it totally off set? Carbon foot print? Would a farmer want to go to work and be indoors the whole time?
