new haircut

As my birthday approached, I worried that I had been stuck with the same haircut for a while. I decided I would make a drastic change. The photo was taken with photobooth on my Mac, so the quality isn't the best, but it was easy.

Now, I was really excited about this haircut until I got home and realized that I have had this haircut many times in my life. Then I started to worry that it would look like I did in 3rd grade with this haircut.
At least I don't have the bangs to feather, right? Plus, my mom no longer is making me these sweet dresses.

I tried this same look again in 4th grade while sporting some turquoise colored stonewashed jeans with this great sweater:

Oh, PLEASE make this stop. I can't believe that I did this to myself. I actually looked at my picture and liked it enough to keep styling my hair this way??? Well, 5th grade takes the cake. Perm brushed out to complete the triangle head along with the feathered bangs. MOM, why didn't you stop me?!?!?!

If you like the vest I'm wearing in this picture, you should have seen the matching pants my mom made.

Halleluia! I put an end to this hairstyle in 6th grade, started growing out my hair, along with the bangs. You can still see hints of that perm from 5th grade. Thank you mom and dad for the braces I so badly needed!!! Now, the black rubber bands on the braces, that is another story. What was I thinking choosing those? I remember the orthodontist trying to talk me into orange and black alternating for Halloween. We compromised and went with just plain black.
I think this is the one time this haircut worked for me, I think I was about 3:

I echo Kathy's comment. I think the cut looks fabulous on you! How's Michael liking it?

P.S. - I love all the flashback photos:) You're too funny with the commentary on them!! Just be glad you never had to have a pixie cut b/c you're brothers decided to "play" barber shop with you - and really cut all your hair off...

It's funny to look at those pictures of you! I can totally tell that it's you. What a cute girl you were! I love the short hair. I haven't seen it in person yet. Can't wait!

I'm mad I'm not a lesbian! Your pictures are so hot!!!

Your hair cut is cute...Do you miss your hair? I got a hair cut today and I miss the inch they took away!

Your hair looks great. I cut mine and have regrets. I too realized I'd had this cut before--AFTER I had cut it. How do you remember the acid washed jeans? They're not in the picture. Our brains are filled to the rim of details. I still remember what I wore the first day of seventh day.

Michael likes my hair short and long, I'm lucky that way. I can do whatever I want with it. He was kind of hoping I would have gone a little shorter.

Lindsay, I would love to see the pictures of the pixie cut your brothers gave you.

Nora, I can't wait to see your cut.

Steph, I'm sure the vest/pants combo is long gone, at least I hope they are long gone.

My mother was a sewer too, so I know where you're coming from. I'm sure it was all in fashion at the time, right?

Your new hair looks great!

The brushed out perm pix are the best though.

Those are too funny! But, I love the cut. My mother was a big fan of perms and homemade dresses. Those were the days. By the way, I finished The Kite Runner and loved it. I am now reading A Thousand Spendid Suns. I'll let you know what I think.

Happy Birthday, Marisa! I think you look great in any style or era. For sure! (I hope my 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th grade pictures never make the light of day! Or 8th, 9th . . . why stop.)

Talk about comments taken out of context, Dishes! I've heard those with a sailor mouth called a "sewer," but oh, my! Things sure appear differently in print, don't they? hee hee

I think the new cut looked great when I saw you at Stake Conference. The pictures are great. Imagine having 2 inch thick glasses with the brushed out perm do, the homemade clothes and the braces-that was me.

I love the haircut! But I realize now why you looked slightly offended when I said it makes you look young- you were picturing yourself looking like 1st grade again!

Love the hair. I would never get anything but black rubber bands when I had braces the first time in middle school. I always liked to think they made my teeth look whiter. I was 14. What can you say.

Meg, I'm glad I could clear away your depression and Jamie, I'm SO glad I wasn't the only one with black rubber bands out there.
