We recently had one of these things taken out of our vehicle. I took it to our local recycling center and asked if they buy them used. They did, I expected maybe $5 for it. They offered me $20. Sweet, I'll take it! I think I was a little too excited, and he regretted offering me that much. I would have taken the $5. So I called my husband really excited. He asked me "what foolish thing are we going to spend it on? I think you need MORE picture frames or something!" Well, I did want to make a new bed-skirt for our bed, but now that he made that comment, I have to prove that I can spend the money wisely. Any suggestions? I'm really bad about spending money wisely!
Honestly, I don't think I should have to spend it wisely. I already did a wise thing by having it recycled. Right?

Hmmm...I might be tempted to say something like "well, I was going to spend it on YOU...but I wouldn't want to be FOOLISH!"
But I'm mean like that.
No, I don't think you need to necessarily to do something "wise". What is wise anyway? A bed skirt sounds very nice and it's not like you're going to Sweet Afton's and buying $20 worth of fudge. Also, depending on what time of the month it is - that actually could be a very wise purchase.
You went to the trouble of recycling it - you do whatever you want. Again, I'm mean like that.
I wish I had been as clever as you. I always think of great things to say after the fact.
Buy your husband a nice gift. He loves you dearly and deserves a thoughtful present. Very wise.
I would buy yourself something "wise", cleverly disguised as a gift for him. As far as what to buy I'm out of ideas. I'm not that clever :(
I'd go out for a night on the town. I heard there is this great buffet that isn't too expensive - it's at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building...(inside jokes are not that funny, I guess)
i'm sure i could buy $20 worth of chocolate. don't judge me.
Maybe you could save all the money you get spontaneously like that in a jar or envelope - and then every six months/year you and Mike could make a guess as to how much is there. Whoever is closest gets the sum...and then you would have much more to splurge...I mean...'be wise' with:)
Sadly - this idea came to me as I was thinking about what you could get for $20. I couldn't think of anything 'valuable' with a $20 price tag. I'm really boring that way...
I would love to buy $20 worth of chocolate and hide it so nobody would ever know about it except me.
I could also tell Michael that the bedskirt is partially for him because we share a bed. He would know that isn't true, because most men (my husband included) don't care about things like bed-skirts, shams, and valances.
The 'Mike' that commented above is my husband. Isn't he sweet?
I LOLed on Mike's comment. I knew for sure it was you Michael. $20 is random--you should use it to enter a race. But the bed skirt is my vote since it was yours. Never doubt your first choice...have you seen the couch I now own?
You should use it for one of those loans that you posted about forever ago...can't remember what they are called. That was you wasn't it?
