With sadness I say farewell to a prophet that I have held so dear to my heart. When I found out the news last night, I called my mom to mourn with her. Surprisingly she was so happy for him, he has lived a long successful life, served well, and he can now be united with his sweetheart. He is the prophet that I have grown up with, he has a great sense of humor, and is so kind, but also surprisingly hip. President Hinkley, I have to say thank you for your years of tireless service, love of the gospel, and love of the members of the church.

yes - i was a bit sad to hear the news - but i was like your mom - so happy that he is where he is now! he was so lonely without his wife and i know it's cliche - but he really is in a better place. i did love him dearly as well - and will miss his presence at conferences. he was a wonderful prophet of God.
Cameron was super happy and I was bawling because I was so sad... I feel like I've lost a good friend. I think because I went through my teen-age years while he was prophet and followed his council and gained a testimony of the church, I am in pain. Thanks for the post!
