ABC Adventures

These were really fun for the kids. Each of them have their own adventure, when you are done watching, you can make your own. Mason's is the cutest (not that I'm choosing favorites or anything).

People pay to do this?

Wow, the stress of family pictures is almost overwhelming! We woke up at 6am to get ready for our family pictures, left at 7, started shooting at 7:30am. You may be asking yourself why we put ourselves through such torture. Well, being a photographer, I knew that was when there would be the best lighting. It is the price I'm willing to pay for good light.

Pictures? Not my family!

Recently I have attempted to get my kids pictures taken. Yes, I am a photographer, but it is so incredibly hard to take good pictures of your own kids. My friend Megan Knorpp took these pictures of my kids, they are the only shots that they actually behaved for, so you won't be seeing any other shots from this sitting. But, if you would like to see more of Megan's work you can visit her website by clicking here

Wizard Rock

I took the kids to an outdoor Rock Concert at Wheeler Farm Monday night. The band played "Wizard Rock", songs all about the books, Harry Potter. We all had a great time!

It took the kids a minute to warm up to the music.

But then Mason and Maya really started movin' and groovin'.

Reece and I enjoyed watching them dance while enjoying the music.

Shades

I just love this picture. My sister-in-law Julianna bought Maya these glasses last time she was out here visiting. When I saw them, I remembered that my little brother Cameron had glasses really similar, and as you can see, they are similar.

Eureka!

We took a "Butt Trip" to the ghost town Eureka. A "butt trip" is defined as, Butt Trip: A journey or voyage made by car, bus or van between a home and an unremarkable landmark or destination. Trips
may include travel to see a giant radio antena, cabins that have fallen in on themselves, and most recently to a ghost town called
Eureka, which isn't a ghost town after all. The purpose of a butt trip is to convince your children that they like to stay home and
be 'bored', thus they will stop complaining about their boredom.

So, we stopped at a gas station and asked where the Ghost Town Eureka was. The lady at the counter got very defensive and replied that Eureka is not a ghost town at all. It is a booming city of about 200 residents, they had great abandoned buildings, all a great backdrop for photographs. I will post a few of the pictures, we went mid afternoon, and the lighting was very harsh, and the kids didn't quite see my "vision". Basically, they didn't want mom to take more pictures of them.
